Stop! That! Train! Review: Modern Drag Boards the Big Screen
More than just a Drag Race offshoot, Adam Shankman’s disaster movie parody keeps its foot on the gas with help from drag stars RuPaul, Jujubee, and Brooke Lynne Hytes.

Like the runaway locomotive at its center, Stop! That! Train! barrels forward with relentless momentum. The drag-centered disaster comedy embraces maximalist camp and non-stop spectacle, hurtling from one gag to the next with very little interest in slowing down—and little interest in whether these jokes land or not. Allegedly completed two weeks before its premiere at Inside Out Festival—according to director Adam Shankman (Hairspray, The Wedding Planner), who revealed this during the screening’s introduction—the film certainly feels rough around the edges, both to its benefit and detriment.
